Amir Obè at NXNE

Splitting time between his hometown of Detroit and Brooklyn, as evidenced in his 2014 mixtape “Detrooklyn”, Amir Obè (otherwise known as Amir Obeid) took on a late afternoon set at NXNE’s Port Lands. Marking the second year of the festival’s relocation to the city’s industrial waterfront space, Obè offered a confident set despite a lean crowd that was just beginning to trickle-in.

Performing an assortment of tracks off his most recent 2017 EP, None of the Clocks Work, as well as earlier works, Obè kept the crowd engaged, highlighting his performance through the equally heartbreaking and tongue-in-cheek break-up anthem, “NATURALLY”. With a career that includes a Drake collaboration, along with multiple record deals, Obè is one to watch as he continues to climb in his career.
