FME celebrates its 20th anniversary over September long weekend

Festival de Musique Émergente en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, or as well call it FME (short and sweet) have released their complete 20th anniversary lineup today set to take over the town of Rouyn-Noranda from September 1 to 4.

The festival program will showcase over 100 artists crossed multiple genres, geographic locations, and years in the industry. The big focus of this festival is discovery and for that alone it is worth the trip to the woodlands of Northern Québec.

The largest outdoor stage will be home to Hubert Lenoir, Animal Collective [cover image], Lisa Leblanc, P’tit Belliveau, Koriass, Sarahmée, CRi, Elizabete Balčus, Rich Aucoin, and Lou-Adriane Cassidy. Many venues across the city will become festival spots; some are concert venues, and others are just cool bars and cafes that commit their space to the festival for this exuberant long weekend. But the festivities do not end there – organizers continually add off-kilter locations, special events, and pop-up shows all around town creating layers of musical discovery.

The coolest part about FME however (besides the exciting programming of course) is all the people who descend on the city for the sole purpose of enjoying music and meeting each other.
