Groove Cruise is getting ready to set sail to Cabo San Lucas

Hundreds of people are counting down the days to October 19th when they will board the newly-renovated Norwegian Jewel for 5 days of non-stop music and festivities.

Globally renowned music event Groove Cruise, organized by Whet Travel, are known for creating a unique atmosphere for their participants with bespoke itineraries and unparalleled curated lineups. This year is no exception. There is a lot to look forward to aboard the Norwegian Jewel and according to many past attendees, good company and the famly-like atmosphere is a major highlight but let’s get into the nitty-gritty.

120 hours of non-stop electronic music

The long list of performers for this year’s Groove Cruise is a host of world-class DJs including the globally established Claude VonStroke, Desert Hearts, Gareth Emery, Green Velvet, and Said The Sky. Among other exciting names on the Groove Cruise lineup are Spain’s DJ, producer, and record label head Blond:ish, USA’s TikTok viral star Acraze, UK’s house producer Hannah Wants, UK’s producer and television personality Joel Corry, and many many more.

The destination is, of course, Cabo San Lucas, where event participants will disembark for beachside festivities with two music stages, fire dancers, and other performances.

Each day the partygoers are also encouraged to dress up according to a particular theme for both day and night. All themes are naturally rave-friendly, inviting glitz and glitter into your outfits with topics like “mythology and moonlight,” “under the sea,” and “visions of the apocalypse” just to name a few.

Artist-hosted experiences 

Given that all guests, artists, and event organizers are basically living together on one boat fan-artist interaction is likely to happen naturally but the event organizer curated a series of events for people to choose from as well. The cruise has just announced 35 interactive artist-hosted activities including: beer games; whiskey, tequila, and wine tastings; workout classes and yoga; a pub crawl, a Hot Pizza challenge, and poker tournament; and much more. Among the activities include a wine tasting with Acraze, a bean bag toss with Carlo Lio, Bingo Revival hosted by Claude Vonstroke, a scavenger hunt with Deepfake, a blackjack tournament hosted by Gene Farris, and so much more.

This boat is a city

The cruise ship has been very recently renovated and now this refreshed state-of-the-art ship features 15 restaurants, indoor and outdoor bars and lounges, Bliss Nightclub, Spinnaker Lounge, and a refurbished pool deck. The ship naturally also has amenities like a casino, video arcade, art gallery, two spas, a sports deck with basketball and tennis courts, and much more.

Groove Cruise also does good

The Whet Foundation, started by Whet Travel’s founder Jason Beukema, aims to create a positive impact in the communities they visit through activities like product drives (clothing, food, school supplies), beach and community cleanups, painting and art programs, purchasing needed items for facilities, repairs, and more. This year the event is launching one of their biggest initiatives to date: visiting two facilities in Cabo San Lucas, Solmar Foundation and Casa Hogar Orphanage in partnership with Heart4Cabo, to serve breakfast, take part in various projects and interact with the children through live art, games, music, and costumes. Whet Foundation will also raise money and collect donations for an initiative to build a house for a recently single mother, and purchase new appliances, cleaning supplies, and paint.
